Recently I stated that I do not agree with you about throwing a bunch of money at a problem that money has made. That I do not believe there is any way to buy back your footprint or some how erase it. I stand by those statements, as things are today. My hope and I believe yours are the same in that we can fix this. There is no other choice, we have to make this right or we are all going to die along with this planet and everything on it.
Please forgive me when I disagree with you on nuclear power. Really? Bill, we have to do better. As a matter of fact we have to go as far as eliminating nuclear everything and yesterday. There is no way forward with anything that harms the planet, our only parent. We do not get another one, this is it. So anything that hurts her should be illegal and punishable by law, what ever that turns out to be. Seriously, no more drilling, mining, polluting, dumping, digging, pumping, burning, damming, sawing, lumbering, sucking out any and all resources against the law without a permit. No chemistry or experiments, scientific or accidental unless under direct supervision and analysis from the committee or a group of their peers. All will be conducted under the strictest controlled settings. Maybe I’m being too anal but we cannot be too careful with the thin thread of life we may still have.
There is no reason for you to listen to anything I have to say. I come from no where, from nobody, with nothing, no one, and I have absolutely nothing to lose. My carbon footprint is non existent compared to most, really, I am a minimalist but not by choice, at first. No I was made to be but now I choose to be because there isn’t anything I cannot learn to live without or have already.
My goal, right now, is to beg you to reconsider your view on nuclear power. I get that we do not see any way out but that is only because we have not looked at it in the right way. The powers that be are not willing to let go and admit they were wrong and we cannot wait for them to die so we can live.
The sun shines all the time, we just need to figure out how to keep it sending solar power even at night. Maybe a few satellites with mirrors to catch the sun and reflect it to another mirror and so on until it reaches it’s destination then to amp it up we can send it through a magnifying glass. Or something like that, maybe? We all need to think outside the box or we will end up in one. Just kidding we will all end up in one eventually anyway.
